    Good Eats
    • Sip on a glass of local wine at Burntshirt Vineyards Tasting Room and Bistro, just 2 minutes down Main Street from the chalet. Take in 30-mile views at Point Lookout Vineyards, just 15 minutes from the Chalet on Point Lookout Mountain.
    • Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery at Chimney Rock Village is another favorite–grab a beer and sit out on one of the several decks overlooking the river and chill after an afternoon of shopping.

    About Fresh Perspective Vacations

    Gretchen and Derek

Once upon a time, Gretchen and Derek relocated from the prairie of South Dakota to the mountains of Tennessee and never looked back. From hiking to playing in the river, having the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina in their backyard spoiled them forever.

Next, they discovered the Gulf Coast, specifically the sleepy little southern town of Gulf Shores, and started making family memories there. The Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina came next, with hiking trails around Chimney Rock and the Hickory Nut Gorge and living the lake life at Lake Lure.
